Beautiful Scars:

When I stand before thee at the day's end, thou shalt see my scars and know that had my wounds and also my healing ~ Rabindranath Tagore

At this point of my life, we collected many. Maps upon our bodies, jagged, some smooth all attached to a trauma of some kind. For me: as a young girl, wiping out on a bike in front of another girl's house who I admired. Humiliated me for years. Most recently, 2010, double mastectomy, due to cancer removal than reconstruction of each breast. I'd recently been thinking about these scars, how I hide at Barton Springs changing room as not to shock kids. I'll still do that, but was inspired by backup vocalist Mary Clayton and her continuing triumph over losing both her legs, then, a few years later with the help of creative friends, produced an album, Beautiful Scars. Mary was the powerful voice twinned with Mick Jagger on Gimme Shelter.

Getting onto the Crystal Light Table, programmed to varying hues of white: whiteviolet, whitehotpink, whiteblue has delivered me thru grief and shame that years of talking with therapists also delivered, but metaphysically. Interested in giving the Table a whirl or coming in for a recharge, make at appointment.
